Stephaine and Peter: A Society Room Wedding.

Stephanie and Peter were married last weekend on a beautiful spring day. Their ceremony took place at Holy Spirit Parish in Newington, we did their wedding portraits at The State Capitol Building, and their reception was at The Society Room in Hartford. The other great vendors for the day were Makeup and Hair by Gina, Stylish Blooms, Dynamic DJ, A Video Affair, and the dresses were from The Wedding Embassy.
After I photographed their very fun engagement session in Mystic a few months ago, I knew that I had a great connection with them both, and that their wedding was going to be full of laughs, they did not disappoint! Stephanie did a beautiful job incorporating their purple and gold, vintage wedding theme throughout their entire day. And Peter did an amazing job with the antique jewelry that he bought Stephanie as a wedding gift.
This was a fabulous wedding to photograph, we had so much fun! Many thanks to Amanda for assisting us and getting some great shots too! Enjoy the photos!

A Bill Miller's Castle wedding - Sarah and Steve!

Sarah and Steve were married on Saturday at Bill Miller's Castle in Branford CT. Both their ceremony and reception were there. It was a rainy, windy day, but the fireplace inside was keeping us all very toasty :) Steve and Sarah are both huge sports fans, so what better theme to have for their wedding than their favorite teams? Their wedding colors were blue and yellow, and the sunflowers were so pretty! We had a great time shooting this wedding, and we hope that you enjoy the photos.

We had such beautiful weather last Saturday for Debika and Taki's traditional Indian wedding at The Society Room of Hartford. With so many people arriving from out of state, including out of the country (some from Canada and India), this truly was a family affair. Debika was stunning, along with her 5 bridesmaids, as they all wore traditional sarees. The elaborate Mandap was beautifully supplied from Mandaps by Dhoom . Larissa Lake Makeup Artist helped everyone look stunning. Mike from Audio Media Solutions provided the special lighting as well as DJ services and did a great job incorporating multi-cultural music all night long. We hope that you enjoy the beautiful images!

Embrace Your Bump - Sarah's Maternity Shoot

I met up with Sarah for a mini Embrace Your Bump photo shoot at the beautiful B+B that her mother owns: The Connecticut River Valley Inn, in Glastonbury CT.
It was a beautiful, early spring day and Sarah was glowing. I can't wait to meet her son and do more photos of the whole family :)

Hartford/Windsor Marriott Hotel wedding - Tara and Greg!

Tara and Greg we married last weekend at the Hartford/Windsor Marriott and we were lucky enough to be their wedding photographers! Larissa Lake Makeup Artist was on hand for hair and makeup, and she did an amazing job. Tara even had Larissa stay into the reception so that she could have fresh makeup and a new hair style for the reception, love when brides do that!
This wedding had many guests from out of state, and it was so sweet seeing Tara and Greg surrounded by so many people that love them, including some of our past clients! Enjoy the photos!

A Society Room of Hartford Wedding - Bonnie and Jason!

Bonnie and Jason were married at the beautiful Society Room of Hartford this past weekend surrounded by their closest friends and family, most of whom traveled from far away states to be a part of this special day.
We started out at The Residence Inn in downtown Hartford, and then went over to the stunning Hartford City Hall for their portraits. Bonnie and Jason chose to do a "First Look" which is when they see each other before the ceremony and do all of their portraits together. We always highly recommend this, especially for weddings in the fall and winter when the sun sets pretty early and the weather is unpredictable. We also recommend doing photos before the ceremony to all of our couples that would like to be a part of their cocktail hour, or to those that may feel nervous about the ceremony. What can put you more at ease than seeing your fiance right before the ceremony and cuddling up for some photos?
Larissa Lake Makeup Artist was responsible for the hair and makeup for this wedding, and she did an amazing job! Along with the beautiful custom designed hair piece!
Jeff Ladd was the DJ for the evening, and the guests loved him.

Embrace Your Bump - Selena's Maternity Photographs

Selena is such a gorgeous woman, and we have been lucky enough to photograph her many times: her engagement, wedding, boudoir, trash the dress, and now her Embrace Your Bump session. We met up yesterday for a snowy maternity photo shoot. It wasn't as cold as it had been, but it was no spring day! Selena looks so amazing, and she is just days away from delivering their first son. A couple weeks back I had the glorious pleasure of photographing the gifted singer/songwriter Latanya Farrell. We first met a few years ago when I photographed her for her first CD "Feelin' Alright", released in 2008. Along with her band, The Bookman Styles Band, Latanya maintains a very busy schedule full of private and public performances. She has a voice that will blow you away, if you ever get the chance to attend one of their shows, don't miss it!

A Society Room of Hartford wedding - Tiffany and Matt.

We are so excited to start off 2011 with Tiffany and Matt's wedding at The Society Room of Hartford! Tiffany and I grew up together, and even though we lost touch for a few years, it was like we were childhood friends all over again! We had even dreamed of having a double wedding together, but I think that being able to photograph her wedding was even better :)
Tiffany hired Larissa Lake Makeup Artist to supply the hair and makeup talent, always a fabulous choice! The dark grey and ivory color scheme beautifully complimented the snowflake/crystal theme of the wedding. Tiffany and Matt had their First Look right outside the doors of The Society Room, on Pratt Street, and then we went over to one of our favorite photo locations, The Capitol Building in Hartford. Afterhours DJ kept the dance floor packed, and their photo booth was a great hit as well! Enjoy the photos!

A St. Clement's Castle wedding - Leslie and Matt!

Leslie and Matt came from California to get married at St. Clements Castle last weekend. Leslie had wished for snow, but unfortunately there was none. The wedding was a beautiful blending of two families, and we were honored to be a part of it. Their wedding was our final wedding for 2010, and what an amazing year it has been for Josh and I! We have had the pleasure of photographing 39 weddings this year, at some of CT's finest venues, working along with extremely talented professionals in the wedding industry. Looking forward to exciting times in 2011!

Kate and Chris had a very classic black, white, and red wedding at The Society Room of Hartford a couple weeks back. One thing that we love so much about working at The Society Room is that you can be there the entire day. They got ready there, had their intimate ceremony on the dance floor, stepped right onto Pratt St. for all of the portraits, and then danced the night away back inside. No limo needed! Larissa Lake Makeup Artist supplied the hair and beauty talent, and a family friend did an amazing job on the floral arraignments. Enjoy the photographs!

Beth and David were married on a cool November day, with their ceremony at The Choate Rosemary Hall, and their reception at The Society Room of Hartford. The wedding had a beautiful Parisian theme, and was extremely romantic! The black, ivory and blush pink color scheme really worked well with the vintage feel of The Society Room.Larissa Lake Makeup Artist provided the talent for hair and makeup. Courtney and Justin enjoyed a beautiful fall day for their Society Room of Hartford wedding. We really enjoyed working this wedding, as everything was done up very elegant, but still relaxed. There we many great vendors involved, including Buzz Media Company on video, Naomi's Salon for hair and makeup, Courtney's dress was from The White Dress By The Shore. Sharon Elizabeth's did a fantastic job on all of the floral arraignments, and Around Town was the fantastic band that kept the dance floor packed!

Maggie and Jude were married on a drizzly, cool October day, but their love for each other kept everyone warm! This was one of the most emotional and heartfelt weddings that we have photographed this year, and we were very honored to be a part of it.
Maggie got ready at The Inn at Middletown and both the ceremony and reception were at St. Clements Castle, in Portland CT.
Maggie and Jude opted to do a "First Look" before the ceremony, as many of our fall couples do. This insures plenty of day light for photos, along with the added benefit of calmed nerves, and the time to enjoy your cocktail hour with your guests. We always highly recommend doing this, regardless of the time of year. Maggie's bridesmaids looked great in three different shades of purple, and Allegra Farms helped Maggie make her grand entrance!
